Semaphoric completed the design and installation of a Fiber-Optic Multimedia Network or FTTH (Fiber-to-the-home) in a Custom Home Neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. The neighborhood Homeowners Association contracted Semaphoric to install and program the equipment to facilitate a Fiber-optics based LAN that would have the capability to deliver high speed broadband Internet to each home. Numerous requests made to local utility providers to install their infrastructure for broadband Internet were ignored because of the remote location of the neighborhood. This left homeowners with Dialup service as their only option for Internet service. In an innovative fashion Semaphoric provided a cost effective solution for the homeowners to obtain broadband Internet. Fiber-optic cabling was run to each home in underground conduits that were provided by the general contractor and terminated at a gate-entry guard house at the entrance of the neighborhood where T-1 service was provided by the local Telco. Homeowners responded with great enthusiasm and in every case contracted Semaphoric to provide additional solutions for their home networking needs. Wireless and wired networks were installed to distribute Internet to multiple computers in their residences. The photos below show a Corning Fiber Termination enclosure, Allied Telesyn Fiber based Managed Switch, Allied Telesyn network router, and the T-1 DSU.
